Adult Course – €350

The adult course is designed with the amateur or semi professional musician in mind who does not play music professionally but enjoys playing music in their spare time. In order to achieve maximum benefit from the course we suggest that:
•You have complete fluency reading music and are reasonably comfortable sight reading.
•You have reached a reasonable level of proficiency in your instrument. If exams taken in the past you would put this on your form and if not give us some information which will give us an idea of your standard. This might include how many years you have been taking lessons, repertoire learned and general playing experience.
•You have some prior experience playing in either an orchestra or chamber group as for the majority of the course you will be playing in a group situation and would need to be sure of being comfortable with this.

The course involves chamber music, orchestra, Traditional Irish music, classes in style and technique and an introduction to improvisation and jazz. The trad and jazz will be mainly learned by ear but no prior experience of this is necessary. It will be taken at a pace suitable for everyone.
Please note that this group will have the widest range of age and ability. As with the other courses our aim is to have an environment where participants are challenged and learn as much as possible, yet are comfortable enough to enjoy every aspect of the course and have fun.
